We find in the early history of the Christian church that the early church leaders made provisions to care for the members of the growing Christian community as the church reached out in sharing the Gospel. St. Andrews has provided many different resources to do the same. We have Care Ministers who visit our members who are confined to their homes or care facilities. These individuals provide communion, fellowship, and a connection with St. Andrews that would be lost without their specialized care and concern. Stephen Ministry is a ministry in which trained and supervised lay persons, called Stephen Ministers provide one-to-one Christian care to individuals facing life challenges. This caring ministry is named for St. Stephen who was the first lay person commissioned by the apostles to provide caring ministry to those in need as recorded in Acts 6. See the Stephen Ministry section for more details. Our Ordained and Commissioned Ministers, Pastor Dan, Bruce, Tracy, and Deaconness Ann-Marie are available during a time of crisis and will help you through a difficult time. They are St. Andrews' spiritual leaders with theological training and a caring heart, not licensed therapists, but they may be able to direct you to a professional counselor if needed. Small Groups, where Bible Study, worship, fellowship, service, and care takes place, is another setting where people can receive and give care to another person. Please contact the church office if you are aware of an individual who needs special care by our church. |
