Stockton is currently the 13th largest city in California with a dynamic, multi-ethnic and multi-cultural population of over 290,000. It is situated along the San Joaquin Delta waterway which connects to the San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers. Stockton is located 83 miles east of San Francisco, and 45 miles south of Sacramento, the capital of California. St. Andrews Lutheran Church has been a part of this community for 65 years and is committed to reach out and share the Gospel to this multi-ethnic and multi-cultural population. St. Andrews is committed to serving its community. Our members are actively involved in many parts of our community serving in various organizations and ways. We also have groups who: -Provide help and support for Teen Mothers in our Teen MOPS program. -Serve at St. Mary's Dining Hall in downtown Stockton on a monthly basis -Collect food for the Emergency Food Bank and St. Andrews is the distribution center for San Joaquin County's Commodities Program. -Provide Bible Studies and ministries to the deaf. -Provide weekly worship, Sunday School, crafts, food, and fellowship for disabled and challenged adults. -Provide needed clothing, food, and other items as well as people for projects at Stockton's Homeless Shelter. |
