Marriage / Family PDF Print E-mail

St Andrews is dedicated to helping all kinds of families enjoy life at any stage together, grow in faith, and experience the blessing God intended for us to experience in family.

Throughout the year we offer various opportunities for families with children to grow together in faith (See Faith Stepping Stones under the Next Generation Menu).

Pastor Dan teaches a Marriage Enrichment Seminar once a year as well to help married couples experience the joy and oneness God has called us to in marriage.

We offer other seminars on parenting at various times during the year.

We are increasing our opportunities for the more mature members of our community as well.

Contact the church office at 209-957-8750 for more information about various aspects of family life in which you are interested.

What is Stephen Ministry?
Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus’ command to love one another.  Through one-to-one caring relationships, those who are hurting receive the love and care they need to support them.  Stephen Minister's aren't counselors, but they are great listeners and are able to bring comfort to you when life gets difficult.

We have just trained several Stephen Ministers who are available to help you through difficult times of your life. If you desire to speak with a Stephen Minister contact Pastor Dan, Bruce Kleinert, or Ann Marie Rehbein at the church office.

Children
Oasis is a time for children of all ages to come together and grow in their relationship with Jesus.  We have loving teachers that lead the kids in hands on activities to help the Bible lesson come to life. They genuinely help kids of all ages know, love, and follow Jesus.  The most important thing is for children to have a growing relationship with Jesus. Oasis is just one more way to help them grow!

Select Page 3 link on the right for information on weekly music for the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service

I truly desire that all Christians would love and regard as worthy the lovely gift of music, which is a precious, worthy, and costly treasure given to mankind by God.

Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.

- Martin Luther

Music at St. Andrews covers a broad spectrum. Congregational song at the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service is accompanied by a pipe organ built in the North German Baroque style, while the 10:00 a.m. service is led by a contemporary band.

Other instruments such as piano, handbells, choirchimes and orchestral instruments are used regularly to enhance our musical offerings.

There is a mixed choir which normally sings each week at the 8:30 a.m. service, and a Women's Chorale that sings once or twice a month at 8:30 a.m.

Our monthly Taizé service is led by a small instrumental and vocal ensemble.

Bible Stained Glass Window from St. Andrews Church Sanctuary

Our CONNECTIONS Bible Study is called "The Best is Yet to Come" written by Pastor John Kieschnick of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas. During our 12 week course, we grow in the seven disciplines of the Christian faith, learn the sacraments of our church, and grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Why have a mediocre faith when Christ intended for us to live life more abundantly. Join us beginning Sunday, January 27th at 11 am. Contact the church office.

Thursday Morning Bible Study w/Coffee and the Gang - A midweek 10 AM morning study for those who are looking to dig deeper into scripture, where scripture came from, and how to share it with others. A time for prayer, Bible study, fellowship, accountability, good coffee, snacks and support. We meet in the Library.

Sunday Morning Bible Class meets in the Library every Sunday beginning at 9:30. We cover a variety of topics and discussions as well as different books of the Bible. We have some very talented and gifted teachers who are very knowledgable on the Bible. A class not to be missed.

Life Transformation Groups are triads of people of the same gender who meet weekly for prayer, bible discussion and accountability. Each person is committed to read 25 to 30 chapters of the Bible each week, is asked accountability questions to stimulate conversation of character and confession of sin in a safe environment which values honesty, vulnerability, confidentiality and grace, and prays for each other as well as for the lost. Each group is responsibile to set up their own time and location.
