Reaching out and down the street... Over the past five years we have been running several programs up at Weberstown East Park. Starting last fall a group of four individuals have been meeting to discuss what we are doing and the effectiveness of the ministry we have done. We recognize that the goal of the ministry is not necessarily to get the people in that neighborhood to come to our church, but to share faith, the message of the gospel, and build strong relationships. The end goal, the long-term vision is for the neighborhood to become a faith community with community Bible studies and small groups; we would like to see a ministry in the park where members of our congregation and that community are building up the community around them through the Word of God. To make that happen we need to build relationships and continually seek God’s will and direction in what we are doing. We ask for your prayers and invite you to join us for lunch at the park the 4th Saturday of each month (12:00pm-2:00pm). We welcome your comments, suggestions, prayers and your presence. If you have questions contact Holly or Tracy in the church office. Thank you for your continued support. Park Events in 2013 Footsteps to the Cross - Saturday March 30th - 1:00pm-3:0pm: Everyone is invited to come follow in Jesus’ footsteps as we use all of our senses to go through His suffering, death, and resurrection. Children will receive a set of “Resurrection Eggs,” which will enable them to remember and tell the Gospel story for years to come. VBS - Saturday July 13th - Time TBD: Vacation Bible School (VBS) is the second Saturday in July and lunch is provided. Children have a blast at VBS as they learn about God through songs, stories, crafts, games, and more. And it’s all free! Fall Festival Saturday October 26th - 1:00 - 3:00pm: Includes games, crafts, candy, and more! Christmas at the Park - Saturday December 21st - 1:00-3:00pm: Everyone is invited to join us for games, crafts, Bible stories, and more. All children also receive a small Christmas gift that reminds them of the reason for the season, JESUS! 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month Download our brochure HERE We find in the early history of the Christian church that the early church leaders made provisions to care for the members of the growing Christian community as the church reached out in sharing the Gospel. St. Andrews has provided many different resources to do the same. Memorial Lutheran Chapel for the Deaf in Fremont holds a Bible study at St. Andrews twice-a-month for the hearing impaired at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday mornings. Pastor Roy Dahlmann and his wife Becky have been traveling to Stockton for many years to help those who are deaf to grow spiritually. For more information contact Pastor Dahlmann at 510-276-3860. Please contact the church office if you are aware of an individual who needs special care by our church. Stephen Ministers care for people inside and outside the congregation, including those experiencing grief, divorce, job loss, terminal illness, loneliness, spiritual crisis, hospitalization, relocation, and other life difficulties. Men are matched with men, women with women. Caring relationships last for as long as the person needs this level of care. Please contact the church office if you are aware of an individual who needs special care by our church. Our mission is to connect disabled adults to Christ and His community for acts of love, service, and mission. We are able to help, but 1:1 care is not available.
