MISSIONS
Our goal through short-term missions is to create long-term relationships with indigenous ministries and people in order to continue the work of mercy and mentoring in the various parts of the world we serve.
We don’t go as experts, but as partners in the mission of God to share the gifts He gives to the whole church and world.
Members of our church have served in Kenya, Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ukraine, Cambodia, and Thailand. We always work with local leaders and ministries in order to build up their work and service to their communities. LCMS World Mission urgently needs 36 Missionaries for 1-2 Years
God has opened many doors for LCMS members to serve overseas as missionaries and teachers for one to two years. Hong Kong (10 individuals needed), Slovakia (16), South Africa (5) and Vietnam (5). Contact the church office for more information. Visit LCMS World Mission cod more information.
- The Sending Place
St. Andrews has partnered with "The Sending Place" for several years to equip the people in our congregation to serve the Lord in nations all over the globe. We believe we can develop long-term, mutually beneficial relationships through short-term missions. We encourage our members to prayerfully consider being trained and going on a mission overseas for the sake of Christ. We believe our people return with a greater sense of purpose for their life, with greater confidence and ability to share their faith, and with a renewed fire for serving in our local community, not just at the ends of the earth. Our church desires to be a church that considers every individual life important enough to serve, whether across the street or thousands of miles away. Our members have served with ministries in Kenya, Ghana, Ukraine, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, India, Cambodia, Thailand, and more. The Sending Place® exists to help you and your congregation be personally involved in declaring God's glory to the nations. We recruit willing servants from all over the country to be obedient "goers," and we train them for five months, two Saturdays per month, before they are sent overseas in teams to serve the needs of the host ministries in such places as Brazil, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, the Ukraine, Ghana, China, Indonesia, etc. The actual short-term mission trips last around 2-3 weeks at a time. So almost everyone, from age 18 on up, can do this kind of mission work!
