New Life is a mentoring and discipleship group that has flowed naturally from our Teen MOPS group. Many of our New Life members were teen moms who attended Teen MOPS, but are now adults who are looking for a group to help navigate our messy world using the compass that only Jesus provides. Our desire for New Life was to reach a larger audience with the Gospel (males and females, churched and unchurched), provide more in-depth study of the Bible, and create disciples who will leave us and reach out to others in our community. Our mission is:
- The inclusion of people who are struggling with life and who are seeking a loving community that does not judge but does challenge to live a new life in Christ.
- The discipleship and spiritual growth of our members through Bible-study.
- To serve together in the community outside our walls through annual service events.
- To continue to develop positive and supportive relationships in our small community through fun, laughter, food, and socio-emotional intimacy.
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away: behold, the new has come.” –2 Corinthians 5:17
New Life meets on the second, fourth, and fifth (if applicable) Tuesdays of each month from September through May, from 5:30-7:45 pm at St. Andrew’s Lutheran. Our group is 100% free to all, and dinner and childcare is provided. Feel free to call the church with any questions or to request that a New Life leader contact you.
New Life is looking for small groups to provide one dinner for our twice monthly meetings. Dinners should be simple, feed about 25-30 people, and should be ready to serve at 5:30 on a meeting night. Examples would be stew/oranges/french bread, taco bar, pizza/salad, lasagna/salad/bread, chicken soup/salad/bread, sub sandwiches/chips/fruit, etc. Dessert is optional. Drinks and all eating utensils and plates are already provided, and cleanup after dinner is helpful but not required.
The next few dates we need covered are:
January 10, 2017
January 24, 2017
This is a great opportunity to show love to the young people who come to New Life to learn about Jesus. Join up with a team to make it easier! If you like, you can make a bit extra and sit down and join us for dinner! We’d love to have you!
Also, we are looking for two additional childcare providers to help care for the children during our meetings. Childcare runs from 6:00-7:45 on meeting nights (we will not need any childcare in December). This is a very urgent need for us! Please prayerfully consider helping!
Questions can be directed to Miriam Deuel at (209) 915-3119.
